Five states prolong anti-Russian sanctions after EU decision
MOSCOW, Oct 25 (PRIME) -- Ukraine, Norway, Montenegro, Albania, and Liechtenstein have prolonged anti-Russian sanctions for another six months until March 15, 2017, according to a statement released on the Web site of the E.U. Council late Monday.
“The Candidate Countries Montenegro and Albania, and the EFTA countries Liechtenstein and Norway, members of the European Economic Area, as well as Ukraine align themselves with this Council Decision,” the statement said.
The E.U. welcomes the decision. “They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Council Decision.”
On September 15, the E.U. Council prolonged sanctions against 146 Russian citizens and 37 corporate bodies due to the situation in eastern Ukraine until March 2017.
